Caroline Emhardt
Mass Tort Attorney
Caroline is an attorney at GTA working in mass tort litigation. She was born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana, and is a third-generation attorney, following in the footsteps of her father, grandfather, and grandmother. Academically, she attended DePauw University for her undergraduate degree, where she majored in English and graduated cum laude. While at DePauw, she also played for the Women’s Tennis Team and became an NCAA D-III All-American.
After earning her undergraduate degree, Caroline attended the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law, where she served as a Dean’s Tutorial Society Legal Writing Tutor and was a member of the Indiana Health Law Review. During law school, she tailored her courses toward studying social justice and the power of the law in the history of the United States while also clerking at a premier plaintiff’s personal injury and medical malpractice firm in Indianapolis.
After earning her law degree and moving to California, she completed a post-bar internship at the City Attorney of San Diego’s Criminal Division’s Case Issuance Unit, where she analyzed police body cam footage and recommended charging decisions. Upon passing the California Bar Exam, she first worked for an insurance defense firm, focusing on personal injury matters, then at a plaintiff’s class action firm, focusing on consumer fraud. Now working in mass torts, she is inspired by meeting with and advocating for individuals harmed by corporate wrongdoings and other forms of injustice.
